Sri Lanka Cricket will be looking at the possibility of getting the participation of Indian players for the Lankan Premier League tournament to be played in August this year. SLC last week announced the plans to start a franchise based Twenty20 league of their own and on Friday (February 16) confirmed that the tournament comprising six teams will take place from the August 18 to September 10. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), that conducts the cash-rich Indian Premier League tournament, has refused to provide No Objection Certificates (NOC) for Indian players to be involved in any other franchise based tournaments.
